Independent Loss Adjuster / Loss Assessor – Home Insurance Property Claims Management
Otto Surveys stands as a trusted, independent surveying firm with over 15 years of combined and extensive experience to the building and surveying industry with residential and commercial properties as Chartered Members of CIOB. Otto Surveys also deal with home insurance claims as an Independent Loss Assessor. Loss Assessors can sometimes be referred to as Independent Loss Adjusters, Public Loss Adjusters, or Insurance Assessors.
Professionals like Loss Assessors at Otto Surveys can support you in your claims process, when you are faced with significant loss or damage. Our Loss Assessors will ensure that we support your claim, and help you navigate the complex claims process, and ensure you receive a fair settlement from your insurance company. We do not take a percentage of your claim like other loss assessors / loss adjusters which could be high as 25%, the money you make is yours as part of the settlement. So if the settled claim value was £17,000 for example, a typical loss assessing firm would take a minimum of £4,250, which means you would only be left with £12,750. We just charge a flat fee of £495 (claim dependant) to do a compressive Independent Loss Assessor Report along with detailed Schedule of Works and associated costs to put things right for you, which you can then forward on to your insurance company. You can decide to use their appointed contractors or use your own builder / contractor to carry out any reinstatement works and take the cash settlement, which could sometimes be a better option. We can also liaise with your insurance company as well for any queries. Just remember, an Independent Loss Assessor like Otto Surveys is on your side, as the overall aim for the insurance company is to reject the claim and pay nothing at all, or do a substandard repair job using a contractor who is working for the interests of your insurer and them cutting corners.
Other Loss Assessors will say they will do a free report if you use their services, however the catch is, they take a large chunk of your payout which is very unfair and unjust. We are totally transparent and you hold all the money rather someone else, so you are in total control.
It is important to note that Loss Adjusters work for your insurance firm and represent their interests. Whereas, Loss Assessors like us work for you, the policyholder, and ensure you receive what you deserve. To use our Loss Assessing Service or appoint an Independent Loss Assessor, please contact us.
